Organized October 8, 1886, continuing the Chicago Stamp Collectors Union, which was organized December, 1884. The CPS is APS Chapter No.1, and one of the two organizations with the longest uninterrupted service to philately in the United States.

The Chicago Philatelic Society usually holds meetings on the third Thursday of each month.

We no longer meet in person except for the November meeting. The majority of meetings occur using Zoom.

Our next meeting is December 19 at 7pm Central Time via Zoom. It will be a show and tell. If you would like to participate, email a scan of the item to President Tim Wait ahead of the call. The meeting and the program are open to the public. We will also share details with members through our newsletter. Guests are welcome! If you are not a member and wish to attend, please email Andrew Oleksiuk for details. Visit our Contact Us page.

We are actively seeking experienced collectors and exhibitors to speak to our members via online presentations. Please contact one of our officers if you would like to present (we can do a practice Zoom session in advance of the meeting). We are open to a variety of subject matter related to any current or former country or stamp-issuing entity.

Please check our Facebook page for current details (link at the bottom of this home page). (You don't need to have an account to visit the page.) Meetings run from 7:00 to 9:00pm, and usually include a philatelic presentation and some society business. All are welcome. Many of our speakers are advanced collectors, so be prepared to see exciting stamp and postal history subjects.

Each year in November we host CHICAGOPEX — one of the four largest stamp shows in the country — that attracts dealers, exhibitors and stamp enthusiasts from around the nation and the world. Click on either CHICAGOPEX selection (at left) to see information about this year's and future stamp shows.

We invite you to visit us or attend a meeting. Our members are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the organization and how you can join.
