Organized October 8, 1886, continuing the Chicago Stamp Collectors Union, which was organized December, 1884. The CPS is APS Chapter No.1, and one of the two organizations with the longest uninterrupted service to philately in the United States.

The Chicago Philatelic Society usually holds meetings on the third Thursday of each month.

On Thursday, February 20 at 7pm, we'll have our monthly meeting at Harold Washington Library, 400 S. State St., room 3N-6. We'll share the topic for the meeting on social media. Prior to that at 5:30pm, we'll meet at the Berghoff restaurant (17 W. Adams) for a Dutch treat dinner. Collectors of all levels and guests are welcome!

Please check our Facebook and / or Twitter pages for current details (links at the bottom of this home page). (You don't need to have accounts to visit the pages.) Meetings run from 7:00 to 9:00pm, and usually include a philatelic presentation and some society business. All are welcome. Many of our speakers are advanced collectors, so be prepared to see exciting stamp and postal history subjects.

Each year in November we host CHICAGOPEX — one of the four largest stamp shows in the country — that attracts dealers, exhibitors and stamp enthusiasts from around the nation and the world. Click on either CHICAGOPEX selection (at left) to see information about this year's and future stamp shows.

We invite you to visit us or attend a meeting. Our members are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the organization and how you can join.
